Raphael's Angel, Right Panel is a jacquard wall tapestry made in Italy. This tapestry is an extract of The Sistine Madonna, one of Raphael's most famous works. Raphael (1483 - 1520) painted it as the altarpiece for San Sisto in Piacenza in 1513-1514. His work is admired for clarity of form, ease of composition, and visual achievement of the Neoplatonic ideal of human magesty. Together with Michelangelo and Leonardo da Vinci, they form the traditional trinity of great masters of that period.
